Save Money By Buying A Used Car At A Car Auction : New Harley davidson 2009
Save Money By Buying A Used Car At A Car Auction
by Thomas Winn
Save your money by opting for auction cars
Sometimes it is very difficult to find a second hand used car in a good condition. Well, if you are searching for a cheap car, it is advisable to take a look at the car auctions organized by police and government bodies. There are cars used by the police, open for auction somewhere in close proximity to you almost every alternate month.
Cars that are auctioned by police are generally the ones that are seized from criminals by the law enforcement agencies. These bodies are also in a practice of selling their own cars once they reach a certain age or go over say, 60,000 miles. These type of auctions offer a large volume of cars. In these auctions, it also happens that some of the good performing cars are sold for very cheap. It is easy for anyone to find a large variety makes and models right from the family cars to sports cars.
If you participate in any auction, you just have to place your bid on the cars you want to buy. During the auctioning, you get a directory of the cars that are open for bidding. So, according to your needs, pick the ones that are of your interest and place your bid. Always remember to find the resale value of the car you are interested in. Once you have determined the amount you are willing to spend for any car, you have to just place your bid. And if your bid is the highest one, the car will be yours. Most of the cars would go from 45 - 70 % less than their actual resale price. Therefore, don't get excited and get into the bidding process by carefully watching the other bidders.
Try to reach the auction venue as early as possible and remain there until it gets over or until you have successfully owned the cars that you want to buy. Generally, the best deals strike either at the beginning or at the end of the auction. Most of the participants reach late at the auction venue and leave early. Comparatively, there is much less competition in the bidding at the beginning and at the end of an auction.
Before filing the final formalities such as writing the check, or verifying any other document, make sure that you have properly inspected the car. Most of the cars are in good condition but it is always suggested to be prudent, because once you have paid for the car, it's final. Also, before leaving the auction venue, make sure that you are having all the documents needed for the ownership of the car.
The car auctions organized by the police and other government bodies are a great source of getting a second hand car in good running condition, much cheaper than its actual worth. Even if you use the car for an year or so and then resell it, it is possible that you get an amount higher than the amount at which you purchased the car.

Chopper Engines Know-How to choose the perfect one
by chrismartin
Chopper builders have a lot of preferences when it tumbles down to engines and how to swell them. Engines appear with tags like Evo, Twin Cam, Shovelhead, DTSI and Knucklehead. A few engines labor better with convinced frames -- in fact, quiet a few of the frames are planned purposely to grasp a picky engine. Chopper producers have to be conscious of an engine's proportions to confirm that they have the precise amount of authorization in their frame once they've installed all their mechanism.
Some producers favor to install their engines unswervingly to the framework of the bike as an element of the "fewer are extra" philosophy the chopper presumes to symbolize. Engines like Harley-Davidson's Twin Cam 88B comes loaded with counter-balancers, which assist in reducing quivering, building it ideal for those who desire to escalate the engine openly to the frame. Engines devoid of a counter-balancer arrangement can confer off a lot of shuddering, so if you escalate the engine straight on to the frame, all that quivering will distress your ride, making it a lot less comfy.
Many chopper maniacs prefer engines designed on the appearance they are going for. Somebody building a cruiser designed as a throwback to the classic units of the 1960s will desire an engine that resembles like an aged one. He or she can moreover acquire an older engine and accomplish some work on it, upgrading it if essential, or acquire a new engine intended to replicate the looks of the classic engines of the times of yore. New Shovelhead blocks appear much the alike as they did way back in the 1960s, but nowadays proffer bikers variants in all aspects ranging from the compression ratio and camshaft and even elevating all the way up to an electronic ignition.

How to make Bio Diesel
How to make Bio Diesel
by Peter Ryan
It feels great to fill up your vehicle with inexpensive, clean, renewable, non-foreign fuel! Bio diesel reduces pollution up to 90% because it has no sulphur in it and adds almost no carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Bio Diesel comes from plants that take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and release oxygen. The plants convert the carbon dioxide to oil so when the oil is burned and carbon dioxide is released, it is a small net increase of carbon dioxide. Because it comes from plants it is renewable. It is also easy on your wallet because it only about $1.50 per gallon to make. The fact that we do not have to buy it from foreign countries is also a huge bonus . Bio diesel can be used in any regular diesel engine such as cars, trucks, tractors, heavy equipment and even generators without modification. It can be used in any combination with petrol diesel from 100% (B100) to 1% (B1). We usually run B100 in the warm months and B50 to B75 in the colder months to keep the fuel from jelling. Making your own Bio diesel does take some time and equipment but the process is relatively simple. It is a "low tech" process so almost anyone can do it. I have always felt that the grass roots public will have to solve this energy crisis. For some reason I do not have confidence that big government, big automakers, and big oil companies will ever solve the problems of pollution, cost and foreign dependence. Maybe it is the fact that they do not want to solve these problems and in fact they have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are, which means unbelievable profits, and/or tax revenues and tremendous power. That is why they want to build a Hydrogen Economy so they can continue to have control over the energy. Whereas, Bio diesel could be done by any number of small producers, which would eliminate the ability of a few huge companies or suppliers to control the energy and the prices. There is not near enough land available to produce enough vegetable oil for our fuel needs using, corn, soy, rapeseed or palm oil but there is enough land available to produce enough vegetable oil for our fuel need using algae. More on this topic later in our series about Bio diesel. For now lets see how to make our own Bio diesel. The first thing that you need to find out is what regulations (if any) your local government (usually County) has on picking up and transporting used vegetable oil. Most smaller counties have no regulations and require no permits. Some of the larger counties do, so check with the Health Department of your county and see if a permit is required and what it takes to obtain one. The other permit that may be required is a processing plant permit. Check this at the same time. Hopefully there will be none required in you area. If there are permits required you must take this into account when looking at the total cost of producing the diesel. One individual in my county even moved to a neighboring county so he could make his own fuel. The second step is to locate a supply of used fryer oil. At first this may seem daunting, but as you get into it you realize that there are many sources for oil. Restaurants have been our best source but grocery stores, hospitals, retirement homes, private school kitchens, festivals, large churches that have commercial kitchens, gas stations that sell fried chicken etc. all have oil they need to dispose of. In the next article we'll go into more detail about this process.

The Technological Advantage of Harley-Davidson Boots : New Harley davidson model review 2008
The Technological Advantage of Harley-Davidson Boots
by Toby T C. Miller
Most motorcyclists in the United States prefer one brand of motorcycles—Harley-Davidsons. This American motorcycle-manufacturer have made and sold bikes that have become an American icon just like cowboys and Indians.
The company became so successful that they built another product line specifically designed for bikers—biker apparel. During the 90s, the company began producing and distributing leather jackets, trousers, and gloves. Motorcycle boots are included in this product lineup.
Harley-Davidson boots, like the company’s motorcycles, are iconized by bikers and those in the leather subculture. That’s because the boots are good-looking, stylish, tough, safe—in every way, reflects the ruggedness and variety of American culture.
Despite being a bit more expensive than standard leather boots, boots from Harley-Davidson are still flying off the shelf. Why? Well, here are some of the reasons why they remain on the boots remain on the top position:
1) There are a variety of styles and designs to choose from. That means each biker can choose whatever pair that suits their preference and style.
The company carries shoelace boots (i.e., Typhoon, Dipstick, and Renegade) and zippered boots (i.e., Patriot, Tyrone, and Amarillo). Some of their bestselling boots feature prominent buckles (Mega Conductor, Side Light, Intrepid).
In addition, there are also boots that combine two or more of these features. For instance, the Taos lineup has shoelaces and zipper locks while the Bladen lineup features zippers and dual buckles.
2) The company’s boots are made out of genuine leather. The leather protects a rider’s feet from the harshest conditions. The leather also seems to improve its look with age, much like aged wine.
3) From looks alone, Harley-Davidsons look like classic, good-quality boots. However, there is more to that than meets the eye. Inside, the boots are constructed using the most high-tech and advanced materials. Some of the materials used are:
a) ComforTemp - a material that acts like a climate-control system for the feet. It allows warm moisture out and allows cool air to come in.
b) GoreTex – an ultramodern protective membrane that makes the boot waterproof.
c) An advanced footbed – a footbed that is full-cushioned, which makes the boot very comfortable to wear. The footbed is also removable and can be washed and cleaned.
d) Clincher Compound – a material that composed the outsole of the boot. The outsole is oil-and abrasion resistant, making it slip-proof and shift-proof.
e) Tec-Tuff leather – this leather, which makes up the upper of a Harley-Davidsons boot, is tough enough to protect the rider from debris, extremely hot temperatures, and even snakebites. Yet it is supple and comfortable.

Motorcycles Have Become Mainstream Transportation : New Harley davidson motercycle review
Motorcycles Have Become Mainstream Transportation
by Dirk Bennet
“I like smoke and lightening….heavy metal thunder! Racing with the wind…and the feeling that I’m under†sang the 1970’s rock group Steppenwolf in “Born to be Wild.†This was one of the first rock songs to glorify the freedom and power of motorcycles. Followed by movies like “The Wild Ones†starring Marlon Brando and later the fabulous “Easy Rider,†motorcycles have become a symbol of freedom on the open road. Each year the small town of Sturgis, South Dakota, holds the largest motorcycle rally in the world. Thousands of cruising bikes, dirt bikes, and choppers descend upon this otherwise quiet town in the Black Hills were motorcycle devotees of all ages can party, attend rock concerts and simply enjoy talking about their favorite subject with other motorcycle riders. They come from all walks of life; doctors, lawyers, blue-collar working folks and an increasing number of women motorcycle riders. Decades ago motorcycle riders were considered as outlaws, mostly criminals. But today, all has changed and riders are viewed as true fans of the vehicles who are completely lawful, with only one two exceptions.
Indian. Suzuki. Yamaha. Honda. Harley-Davidson. These are the finest motorcycles in the world, reviewers say. For example, the Honda Gold Wing is a prized motorcycle because of its fully-equipped components such as an automatic starter, a back “sissy bar†(also known as a “bitch barâ€) for women passengers, a CB radio in its helmets and outstanding safety features and gas mileage. Additional accessories and parts for the Gold Wing and other bikes are readily available at dealerships and on-line at very reasonable prices. Keep in mind that some states require that helmets be worn by all motorcycle riders and passengers; your helmet, and “leathers†could save your life in an accident.
For many riders, there is only one King of the Road â€" the Harley-Davidson. The world-wide Harley-Davidson Group club not only vehemently defends the engineering genius of this motorcycle, but also encourages its members to hold rallies for charitable causes like Bikers Against Child Abuse. Off-road dirt bikes made by HD, Yamaha and Suzuki are very popular in racing. Whether cruising or competing, the joy of the open road (or track) continues to hold an allure for motorcycle enthusiasts.
Recently a bike called “Lethal Injection†has captured the attention of cyclists around the world. This is a “chopper†motorcycle made by Scooter Shooterz that has set new standards for the world’s bikers. A 107 cubic inch V-twin, 4-valve heads, fuel-injected bike, the LI is rapidly gaining in popularity for those who want staggering power in their motorcycle. This bike’s full description is easily found on the Internet.
